TRAVEL GUIDE: HOW TO GO TO 10,000 ROSES CAFE

March 4, 2017 By ChayaJane 42 Comments

The Field of 10,000 Roses
10,000 Roses Cafe is one of the newest attraction in Cebu that catches the interests of the locals and visitors because of its ambiance. The cafe is owned by a Korean national, Miguel Cho, who is a stepson of the current mayor. Located at Barangay Day-as in Cordova, the cafe captured the interests of the people because of the field of 10,000 white LED powered roses that could be perfect for an Instagram backdrop.

How to go to 10,000 Roses Cafe?

There are a lot of ways to get to 10,000 Roses Cafe. You can hire a taxi cab but that will surely cost you more. If you are from Cebu City, I prefer if you take a V-hire from SM City Cebu to Cordova. It can save you the hassle of transferring between jeepneys. The V-hire fare would be Php 40.00. Ask the V-hire driver to drop you off at Gaisano Grand Cordova just across the Iglesia ni Cristo church or you can get off at their terminal. From there, you can ride a trisikad to 10,000 Roses. Don’t fall from the trisikad drivers that will ask for a higher fare price because the fare should be Php 10.00.

If you want to go there and save money on the fare, you can take the other option which is to take the jeepney. From SM City Cebu, ride a jeepney to Parkmall. the fare is Php 7.00. Once you get to Parkmall, you need to transfer jeepneys in the terminal that will take you to Lapu-Lapu City. There 3 Jeepney Routes for Lapu-Lapu City. Take the ones with Tamiya/MEPZ 2 and Opon Mercado routes. The fare would be Php 7.00. If you are taking the Tamiya/MEPZ 2 route, ask the driver to drop you off at the traffic light. For the Opon Mercado route, your drop off point is SuperMetro just beside General Milling Corp. The fare to Cordova for the two routes would be Php 10.00. Do not forget to ask the driver to drop you off at Gaisano Grand Cordova and hire a trisikad to 10,000 Roses Cafe.

There is an environmental fee of Php 20.00 that will be collected by the LGU at the entrance of 10,000 Roses Cafe. This is to help control the traffic and people who want to visit the place.

Fare Summary

UPDATE!!!

I have been receiving comments about how to go home from 10k Roses so I decided to update the blog to help my readers.

Here is how you can back to the city from the cafe.

From the cafe, ride a trisikad to take you to the highway or the main road. There is are V hires that will go back to the city but I am not sure of the exact time for their last trip. Usually, it would be 8 pm to 9 pm.

You also have the option to take a jeepney that is bound for the Lapu-Lapu City terminal, just make sure to take the MEPZ route. The jeepney’s route in the terminal is Mandaue/Parkmall. Just choose your drop off or ask your driver to drop you off where you can ride a jeepney going back to Cebu City.

Mactan Airport to 10k Roses

There are taxis available at the airport but if you are looking for a way to save from the fare, you can take the yellow jeepneys inside the airport. These jeepneys are for Opon Market where you can ride another jeepney bound for Cordova. You can also ask the driver to drop you off outside of the airport where you can ride a jeepney bound for Cordova.

If you are still unsure, you can use Uber or Grab.

I hope this helps.

Can you advise us what are the possible rides when going back to the city and how much does it cost? Preferably 5 pm onward, if there’s any. Thank you for the reply.

      Hello,

From the cafe, you can ride a trisikad to take you back to the highway. The fare would be the same, Php10.
If you are going back to the city and it is still early, v-hires are still available or you can ride a multicab/jeepney with a mepz or terminal route. Unfortunately, v-hires will no longer be available beyond 9 pm.

Hi good day! If for example you’re coming near from IT Park, is it safe and preferable to ride a taxi going there? Would it be very expensive? Let’s say you have 2 children in tow? Thanks!

      Hi there, Merry!

It is actually a bit expensive as we know taxi’s plug down rate. If you have uber or grab, I guess that would be better. If you are going to go there by public transit, it would be a hassle when transferring rides since you have kids with you.

      Hello!
You can try to catch a PUJ to Mandaue and from there another PUJ to South Bus Terminal. Unfortunately, PUJs will be limited around that time so you might want to take a taxi cab or if you have grab/uber, it would be much easier.

      Hope this helps!

Hello! How long does it usually take when traveling from SM to Cordova by v-hire? I’m planning to go to Happy World Museum then 10k roses right after. You think we’ll be back in Lahug by 2 pm? Happy World Museum opens around 10a.m. by the way .

    Thanks in advance

      Hi Cris,
I am really not sure since it would depend on the traffic. But, without the traffic and vhire’s waiting time not included, it would not take an hour to get there.
I guess if you leave early, you can avoid the traffic and be back at Lahug at 2 pm.
You can also ask your driver for the estimated travel time since they are more familiar.
      Hope this somehow helps.:)

      Best Regards,
      ChayaJane

We are planning to visit that place on Monday or Tuesday, from Marco Polo Hotel would there be a chance of getting an UBER ride from there or how far from it from MPH?

      Hi there Ana!
If you want to save fare, you can just ride a yellow PUJs from the airport to marina mall. From marina mall, there are PUJs bound for Cordova.
Taxis are also available at the airport.

Hi! I was planning that it would be our last destination before we go back to Manila. Are there taxis/transpo from Cordova going to Mactan airport late at night.. let’s say around 9-10pm??

    This is my sample itinerary:
Cebu city tour>10,000 Roses Cafe> Mactan Intnlt Airport

Hi! as per our experience, it would be hard to catch cabs at that hour. I suggest that you use the grab car and tell the driver to pick you up at your desired time.

It would actually take less than 45 minutes depends on the traffic. I guess google included the traffic time in its computation. Lol.

Hi. I will be travelling to Cebu with my Hubby this coming September. We want to visit 10k roses before our flight back to Manila. Our hotel (Anthurium Inn ) is situated near Mactan Airport. Aside from Taxi and Uber, is there another way to get to 10k roses? And then from 10k roses to Magellan’s Marker. It will be much appreciated thank you.

      Hello!
Sorry I was not able to respond immediately. Yes, there is another way to get there. From your hotel, you can ride a trike and ask your driver to drop you off where there jeepneys/multicabs for Marina Mall in Pusok. In there you can transfer jeepney for Cordova.

jeepney’s minimum fare is 7 pesos but it would depend on the distance. From Marina mall to Cordova, it would be around Php 12 to Php 14.
